Save Money Now
It's not just about the Insurance
If like million's of others, you're trying to save a bit of money right now, then I'd urge you to consider the many ways in which Advanced Driving can cut the cost of your motoring.
When we're talking to members of the public about the guidance that our group can offer, reduced price Insurance is usually the first thing that they ask us about. But of course insurance is only one of the rising costs of motoring, and many drivers don't realise that so many other savings are possible.
Fuel costs for example, seem to be rising and rising, so it's more important than ever to get the most from your precious litres. Whilst the car manufacturers are finally making major improvements to the efficiency of their products, not everyone has the option of upgrading to a new car to take advantage of these improvements. And even if you have the latest fuel sipping technology, it's still worth getting the best from your vehicle whatever its official figures are.
Advanced driving also offers significant savings in car maintenance costs though these savings appear to be less important to many drivers. Perhaps it's because everyone hopes that their car isn't going to need new brakes or a new clutch in the near future, so they don't see the benefit of taking steps to prolong the life of these components. And with many people keeping their new cars for only a few years, perhaps these motorists are confident that the excessive wear and tear that they impose on their vehicles will end up being someone else's problem.
But if you want to be kind to your car and your pocket, then you really should find out how the system that we employ can help. If, like most of us, you can't afford a new car every few years, then it will pay you even more to look after it - you probably do take care to keep it looking good, but do you drive it in a sympathetic manner, making good safe progress, but without causing undue wear and tear on its important components?
Though Insurance is Expensive!
Returning to everyone's favourite subject of Insurance for a moment, I'd again urge drivers to think of the bigger picture. Yes, everyone would like to reduce their premiums, but many drivers consider this to be simply a question of getting a bit more discount on their current policy. But the best way to achieve low insurance premiums in the long term is to reduce the number of claims. We can all make the best savings by reducing the chance of being involved in an accident - particularly one that ends up affecting our no claims bonus.
This is probably why so many more advanced drivers are telling me that they are making big savings through IAM Surety. The providers of this insurance know that in the long term they are going to pay out on many fewer claims and as a result can offer much better deals to many of our members.
Whilst I can't personally guarantee that IAM Surety will offer you the best price, I can tell you that many members have found that IAM Surety has saved them money. But no matter what discounts you might get for being a member of our organisation, you're sure to find that it's your personal driving record that counts in the long term, and driving to the system is surely the best way to ensure that you have the kind of record that makes insurers want your business; that way they'll all want to offer you attractive premiums, whereas if you've made a lot of claims then they're going to quote you numbers that are designed to send you somewhere else for cover.
Low Cost route to Savings
Of course the very factors that are making us want to save money on our motoring also mean that some drivers are less willing to pay the costs of joining us. Although they may happily spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds enhancing their vehicle - for better performance, safety, or looks - improving their own key driving skills is not something they wish to spend money on. So despite our costs being minimised thanks to our observers volunteering their time for free, the cost of skill for life can put many drivers off taking the course. When you analyse it, the package is a fantastic deal, but it's still a larger cost than some drivers wish to pay up front.
To help overcome that issue, we can now offer drivers the option to pay for their Skill for Life in two parts. Firstly they would pay a fee of £75 up front which would cover the cost of joining the scheme, the books that we provide and the associate membership they need to receive the necessary guidance from our volunteer observers. In fact this is all they need pay to significantly improve their driving, and as a result receive many of the benefits of advanced motoring.
It's not just about saving money
Whilst Advanced Motoring is sure to save you money, of course it's not all about that. For many drivers it's about enjoying their driving more, and of course it's about safety too. The roads in our area may be amongst the safest in the world, but the death and injury toll is still far too high.
Please come along to one of our regular guidance sessions to find out about all of the ways in which Advanced Motoring can save you money, or if that's not convenient for you then please contact us to arrange to meet one of our team at a time that is.
